Do you think you should know where the food you are buying comes from?

The 39000 NewZealanders who signed a petition think so. I wasn't one of them because no one waved the sheet under my nose to sign. If they had done so, I would have signed it without hesitation. It's a no brainer which is why both National and Labour politicians voted against it. Is it any wonder that politicians are held in such public contempt when they are so out of touch with reality and public opinion.

Mandatory labelling doesn't mean it has to be stuck on the item. The sign which displays the price should also show the country of origin. I'd like to know whether the carrots on the supermarket shelf come from Pukekohe or Poyang and make the choice to purchase or pass.

I'm not a fan of the Green Party, but this time they've got it right and the tossers from the main parties need a kick up their arses.
