What are they?

Microsoft Vista provides a sidebar in which you can run small programs called gadgets. A Vista gadget has been developed to enable you to monitor this (and other) weather stations.

Yahoo have developed a similar program called Yahoo widgets installable on a wider range of Microsoft platforms including XP,Windows2000 and Vista.

Dowload sidebar gadget

Download the gadget by clicking on the graphic to the left. Rename the file extension from zip to gadget. Install it into the sidebar by clicking on file. Mouse click on the spanner on the right and enter "port" into the search box (without the quotes). Select Port Robinson and you're away.........
You can run add any number of the same gadget in the sidebar, setting up different weather stations.

This widget runs in windows XP. You will need to download the Widget engine from Yahoo. You can do that from here. When you run it the first time, it will launch a number of widgets on your screen. Close them all, it will only do that once.
Once installed, then download the widget. Click on the graphic to the left to do that. Save it to the widget directory which has been created in 'Your documents' directory. Rename the file extension from zip to widget. You can now run it using the widget engine. The URL of the weather station and Station name should appear as the default.
