Brickbats & Bouquets.

I guess I really have become the Grumpy Old Man. Last week I launched into a diatribe about Farmside and this week I was going to relive the inadequacies of Versatile Garages.
I withdrew the Farmside saga after a couple of days after cooling off. Farmside wouldn't go away and suddenly wanted to do the job immediately. I had by that time had enough and started to look at alternatives. I told them to go away and have written to the General Manager outlining my reasons, however, rather than inflaming the situation with the blog I decided it was time to move on. My August resolution is to dwell on the positives and shrug off the negatives.

So the brickbat goes to the companies that one has to use bully tactics in order to get a level of service that should be the standard. Unfortunately there seem to be a lot of them out there.

The bouquet goes to AMI insurance. One of the zillion trucks on the road to Cheviot flicked up a decent sized rock which put a lovely crack in the windscreen of the Ute. As it was early afternoon and I was heading into Christchurch I detoured round to the AMI office in Latimer Sq. The nice young lady took my details and cellphone number and said someone would contact me with an appointment time. When I explained I was living at Port Rob she took it upon herself to short circuit the system and speak to Smiths Glass directly, organising the job to be done first thing Sat morning. Smiths did a great job and even rang me when it was ready to be collected. Now that's what I call real service and I stand up and applaud both companies. They have absolute gems working for them.

Boy does that feel good!!!!
