11th September 2008

On the 8th November we will be asked to cast our votes for the next bunch of grubby politicians to strut their stuff and meddle in our lives. The Winston Peters v Owen Glenn affair illustrates the deviousness, selective memory and economy with the truth all politicians are capable of in order to cling to power.

Whatever the motives were that led Owen Glenn to donate large sums of money to both the Labour party and NZ First, you can be sure that he had an eye to the future working on the philosophy that good comes from good and one day there will be a pay-back time. The fact that he is somewhat miffed that the Labour government and party machine has distanced itself from him over the Peters affair proves the point. He is a successful businessman worth over a $NZ billion. You don't get to that position in life with a faulty memory and lack of attention to detail. You've got to ask yourself, what has he got to gain from lying? whereas we all know what Peters has. No one in the Labour Party comes out of this smelling of roses. The National party are keeping a low profile no doubt thinking that if too many stones are turned over, a few donated corpses with their fingerprints on them might come to light.

One hopes that in November the voters that previously ticked the box for Peters will finally wake up to the fraud and charlatan that he is and NZ First will sink without trace.
